Art has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember.
After high school I studied ceramics at Southeastern Louisiana University. Raku & primitive firings would come back & play a role in the art I create now. After school I worked for years in marketing and visual arts.
It was later when my children were born that I began experimenting with mixed media, and it has kept me sane as I raise my rambunctious triplets. Nowadays when I'm not playing in my studio I'm a stay-at-home mom and a pretty decent wife to my best friend and biggest fan.
My art is inspired by my ancestors, the keepsakes and stories they’ve left behind for me. I like to think of myself as kind of an archaeologist; instead of cataloging artifacts I alter them and give them new life.
I’m proud to have some of my work published in Somerset Studio & Somerset Life. You can see more of my art on my blog http://tarnishedandtattered.blogspot.com
